
Science Influencers Mini
The Science Influencers Mini program is a six-month experience for students interested in communicating in the food and agricultural sciences but who may not have a year to commit to the yearlong Science Influencers program. The program provides up to $2,500 in funding to complete an internship during the fall 2025 semester and communicate the results of the internship through the Science Influencers Research Symposium in February 2026. The monies will be paid to students in installments at the completion of activities ($2,000 available in fall, $500 available in spring). Program starts September 15, 2025.
Applicants to the Science Influencers Mini program must:
- Have a confirmed internship and internship supervisor for the fall 2025 semester.
- Be a US citizen or permanent resident.
- Be enrolled as an undergraduate (completed a minimum of 30 hours) at a University within the Texas A&M University System.
- Demonstrate interest in the communication of agriculture or science.
- Complete the application before September 3, 2025. Applications closed.
- Write a short essay about your research, education or Extension interests.
- Submit a current résumé.
Students selected for the Science Influencers Mini program will:
- Participate in professional development, including reusable learning modules focused on science communications.
- Develop a relationship with a mentor in your discipline.
- Complete a 10-week (10 hours a week) internship in fall 2025.
- Present at the Science Influencers Research Symposium in spring 2026.
