Natasha Cardozo is a psychology major on the pre-health track with a minor in journalism whose academic interests center on research, science communication, and public health. She has been actively involved in psychology research through the Development of Mind and Emotions Lab and recently completed a summer research program at the University of Colorado Anschutz, where she studied lysosomal activity during sepsis. These experiences have contributed to findings in their respective fields while reinforcing the importance of effective communication in ensuring research reaches broader audiences.
Natasha’s background in journalism has strengthened her ability to write about scientific topics and advocate for health-related policies. She plans to pursue a career as a practicing physician while continuing to engage in research, particularly in areas related to public health. Through the Science Influencers REEU program, mentored by Vani Dawson Mathur, Natasha hopes to further develop her science communication skills and contribute to efforts that support health literacy and informed public engagement.
