Alyson Davis is a junior biomedical sciences major with minors in psychology and public health whose academic interests center on research, education, and community outreach. She is currently involved in the SMART (Social Media and Resilient Teens) research project, which examines how social media influences the mental health and identity development of racially minoritized adolescents. Through data collection methods such as real-time tracking, surveys, and interviews, Alyson is gaining experience translating research into programs that support youth resilience and well-being.
Beyond research, Alyson serves as Vice President of Dermatological TAMU, a student organization dedicated to promoting skin health and improving health literacy. In this role, she helps lead educational initiatives focused on skin health, hygiene, and the prevention of skin-related disorders. Alyson plans to pursue a career as a dermatology physician assistant and currently works as a medical assistant in dermatology, where she has seen firsthand how skin health impacts both physical and mental well-being. Through the Science Influencers REEU program, mentored by Louana Paddock, Alyson hopes to further develop skills that bridge research and communication to address health disparities and promote meaningful community engagement.
