Noah Kim is a junior computer science major at Texas A&M University whose academic and research interests center on applying computing and engineering principles to improve access to healthcare. He is particularly interested in health-related technologies such as biosensors, diagnostic systems, and telemedicine tools designed to improve quality of life and expand access to medical care.
Noah has participated in research at the INVENT Lab under the mentorship of Cynthia Hipwell for the past two summers, where he has contributed to the development of a haptic system for remote physical examination procedures. His research focuses on haptic sensor development for remote thyroid palpation, including the study of clinical touch dynamics to inform the design of sensorized gloves. Through the Science Influencers REEU program, Noah hopes to continue his research while strengthening his ability to communicate technical work to the public and engage with mentors and peers in science communication and outreach.
