Alejandro Navarro

Alejandro’s research is dedicated to discovering innovative methods for isolating beneficial bacteria from marine environments. The vast oceanic expanse is a treasure trove of microbial diversity, harboring species like Marinactinospora and Lobophorins B and F, which hold immense potential in pharmaceutical applications. These microorganisms possess a remarkable structural versatility, attributable to their interchangeable genetic elements, allowing for therapeutic configurations.

Alejandro seeks to explore various aquatic habitats, aiming to unearth a spectrum of bacteria with unique medicinal properties. Notably, Marinactinospora, along with Lobophorins B and F, have shown efficacy in combating cancerous cells. Alejandro hopes to find different types of bacteria that have similar properties that’ll be used to fight off different types of harmful cells in our bodies.
