Hector Ibarra is a first-generation student at Texas A&M International University whose dream is to become a doctor and bring quality healthcare to underserved communities. He describes his journey as one built on faith, family and service. “I want to give back to the community that raised me,” Hector said.
Hector is deeply involved on campus, serving as Greek Council President and participating in multiple academic and leadership organizations. His experiences have taught him that leadership in medicine begins with empathy. He hopes one day to return to his university community to establish a hospital that serves the public, providing affordable care and hope to those who need it most. Through Science Influencers, Hector aims to strengthen his voice as a communicator and advocate, using science to build bridges where barriers once stood.
